Building software is one thing, but striking the right chord with the user is another. At Solvy, we translate complex processes into simple digital solutions that truly make an impact. We asked Jens, our Digital Product Owner, six questions. He shares how he bridges the gap between client needs and technology.

1. What do you enjoy most about your role as a Digital Product Owner at Solvy?

“The thing I enjoy most is the direct contact with clients. We work with a large and diverse group of customers, and I’m naturally very curious. I get energy from listening to how people do their work, asking follow‑up questions, and clarifying their processes. The best part of my job is translating those processes into digital solutions together with the client. I love coming up with solutions and seeing their real‑world impact. It’s incredibly rewarding to watch those ideas turn into reality.”

2. What are your greatest strengths?

“My curiosity is my biggest strength. I enjoy talking to people about their work to truly understand what they need. I’m also calm and resilient under pressure. In software projects, where things can get hectic, I stay composed and give everyone involved confidence. Of course, that’s only possible with a strong and reliable team behind you. What matters most to me is quickly grasping what a client needs and translating that into a fitting digital solution. The best compliment I can receive is hearing that something is ‘exactly how the client intended it'."

3. What do you see as your most important contribution to client projects?

“I bring knowledge and experience in digitizing processes. Our clients are experts in their own fields, but they don’t work with digital projects every day. I translate their input into improved processes and concrete solutions, which I then write out as user stories for our development team. I make sure the end result is actually delivered. My biggest contribution is thinking along as a digital partner and acting as the connecting link between the client and our team.”

4. How do you support clients with technical projects or integrations they have little experience with?

“I actively guide clients through the process by making the technology understandable. I explain why we propose certain choices and always look for the best approach in terms of budget, time, and impact. The goal is for the client to truly understand what’s happening so we can make the right decisions together.”

5. How do you handle changing requirements or priorities during an ongoing project?

“Changes are almost inevitable in complex software projects, which is why we usually work in short two‑week sprints at Solvy. We deliver in small increments that we validate immediately. I look beyond the immediate request: which functionality delivers the most value, and what fits within the available budget? I find it important to think along with the client as a true partner, rather than simply executing tasks blindly.”

6. What makes a project at Solvy successful, in your opinion?

“The drive of our team. I’ve been here for over four years now, and from day one everyone is committed to delivering the highest quality. In my role, I’m the face of the project for the client, even though I don’t write a single line of code myself. I can’t build the solution, but I know the team behind me can. Knowing that we create something together that genuinely helps the client — that’s success to me. The combination of a dedicated team and satisfied, happy clients is what makes a project truly successful.”
