Powerful, Personal, and Scalable: How Natec’s Customer Portal Boosts Digital Revenue and Customer Loyalty.

Tim Strengers has been working at Natec for almost five years. He is the Commercial Director and has been deeply involved in the development of the custom Customer Portal.

Since 2004, Natec has been active in the solar industry. Over the years, they have grown into a leading player in the international market for A-brand solar products

Retrospective

From SME to International Player
“Where we started as a relatively small company, we have grown considerably over the past few years,” says Tim. “The same goes for our customer portal. Initially, we built a customer portal together with another party. At the time, the portal had only limited functionality, which suited the size of the company back then.”

As Natec continued to grow, so did the needs of their customers. “With the structure we had in our portal at the time, we realized we were creating a sort of ‘cauliflower’—it kept getting more complicated and there was no logic to it,” Tim explains. “We couldn’t resolve this with the party that had built the portal. Natec was looking for a partner who could help untangle this complexity and build a robust IT solution for the long term.”

Growing Alongside the Business
Natec operates in a fast-growing, international market that is constantly evolving. “We don’t know exactly how this market will develop. A business-to-business platform is therefore truly something unique. And we recognize that ourselves.”

“With a standard solution, we wouldn’t be able to keep up with all these developments and changes,” Tim continues. “The custom solution and Solvy’s proactive thinking were the perfect answer for us. The customer portal is also a kind of development platform. It evolves with our needs and those of our customers.”

“The specialists at Solvy are, quite literally, at our table,” Tim laughs. “When we discuss developments within Natec internally, they think along at a process level—IT solutions, but also architecture. Solvy provides us with honest, expert advice, which is exactly what we need.”

I view Solvy as a driver of our business growth.

Personal Touch
After a stable and positive collaboration of two years, Tim is now seeing clear results. “The use of the portal among customers has increased tremendously. Both from a commercial perspective and from a user experience standpoint, it is crucial that our customer portal has a personal touch,” Tim explains. “This determines how often, and whether, customers will use it. This not only benefits our revenue through smoother digitalization but also allows us to reach a broader customer base. While our sales team could already reach some customers, the implementation of the customer portal has enabled us to engage with a much larger audience. We also see this reflected in Natec’s revenue: over the past two years, we have tripled our turnover.”

Naturally, the objectives have changed as well. “Initially, we aimed for 60% digital revenue, but now the goal is truly 100%,” Tim says enthusiastically. “We see that achieving 100% revenue in the short term is possible. We are fully committed to reaching this goal, partly because we can rely on Solvy. We know that if any problems arise, they are resolved immediately. Knowing this, we dare to pursue this ambition.”

The Next Step
Although Natec is currently focused on further digitalizing sales processes and making them even more customer-friendly, there are already many ideas for the future. “With all the possibilities that this customer portal and digitalization offer, I certainly see several potential steps that we, as Natec, can take in the future. Together with Solvy.”

Launching recycling fees in Poland or adjusting tax rates abroad doesn’t happen quickly enough with a standard SaaS solution. For that, you need a custom-built platform and a collaborative partner.
